Dear Friend and MaxInMotion® Supporter,
One year ago today, we launched the MaxInMotion Foundation. In twelve short months, MaxInMotion has become a major force in youth sports in the state of Arizona. We have awarded nearly 2,000 scholarships to economically challenged youth and have become the sponsor of the first-ever wheelchair basketball and wheelchair power soccer clinics and leagues in the state. The recipients of MaxInMotion sports scholarships hail from all over Arizona and participate in competitive soccer, basketball, and hockey. As much as we have accomplished this year, we have plans to do much more.
In our first year, we were able to meet the needs of each athlete who applied timely for financial assistance. Independent program advisors representing some of the largest sports organizations and governing bodies in the state carefully qualified grant requests. Owing to our success, word is out in the sports community that deserving young athletes can apply for aid for the upcoming 2013-14 seasons. We expect significantly more applicants in this funding cycle than last year. We hope to again turn down no child. We want each qualified applicant to engage in the character and team building experiences of competitive sports.
I ask for your help so that we may further the MaxInMotion mission, continue to do well for deserving youth in Arizona, and proceed to honor the memory of my late son, Max. Today would have been his eighth birthday, and it gives all of his family and friends pride to know that we are helping young athletes, whether they are economically or physically challenged.
Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution again this year or making a commitment to do so. You may donate on our website, MaxInMotion.org, where you will also find very important information about the Foundation. Importantly, MaxInMotion grants 99.9% of its annual budget directly to supporting deserving young athletes. The Foundation has no paid staff or fundraising costs. Rather, we rely only on volunteers to support our effort.
Whether or not you are in a position to make a contribution, please know that your original support has been critical to our success. For this we are forever grateful.
Warmly,
Jonah Shacknai
